Emily Huie is a policy and strategy expert with nearly two decades of experience advancing U.S.–Africa relations, global development initiatives, and effective advocacy across government, philanthropy, and civil society. She currently serves as a Senior Advisor with Global Health Visions, where she supports partners with high-level strategic planning, thought partnership, and innovative engagement approaches to elevate leadership at pivotal policy moments.
Before joining Global Health Visions, Emily spent five years at the ONE Campaign, where she served as U.S. Policy Director and led the organization’s policy positions across a wide range of development issues, including trade, energy poverty, gender equality, and global health. She played a role in shaping and executing bipartisan advocacy strategies that contributed to major U.S. development legislation, including the Electrify Africa Act, the BUILD Act, and reauthorizations of PEPFAR and AGOA.
Earlier in her career, Emily served on the National Security Council staff at the White House. Emily’s broader portfolio includes strategic planning and analysis for global health, gender, education, and economic development programs, as well as extensive experience engaging policymakers, thought leaders, and influencers to advance U.S. support for development partnerships in Africa.
She holds a MA in World Politics from The Catholic University of America and a BA in Political Science from Miami University. Emily currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina with her husband and daughter.
