Inge Kaul has been adjunct professor and is now senior fellow at the Hertie School, Berlin. Previously she served as director of the Human Development Report Office and the Office of Development Studies at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), New York. She has provided consultancy services to policymakers around the world and published extensively on issues of development, global governance and international cooperation. She is the lead editor/co-author of a series of publications on global public goods, including: Global Public Goods: International Cooperation in the 21st Century; Providing Global Public Goods: Managing Globalization; and The New Public Finance: Responding to Global Challenges (Oxford University Press: New York, 1999, 2003 and 2006, respectively); co-author of the Hertie School’s Governance Report 2013 (OUP: Oxford, 2013) and editor/co-author of Global Public Goods (Edward Elgar: Cheltenham, 2016). Her current research topics include the role of the G20 and the future of multilateralism, with her main research work focusing on the development of a coherent analytical, policy and institutional framework for international cooperation finance, covering the financing of development, emergency and peace operations, and the provision of global public goods.
