Punjab’s fast-paced and ambitious education reforms have generated debate and interest globally. Last year the Economist described Punjab as “home to the most frenetic reforms in the world, trying to make up for generations of neglect.”
With a new government in office, education remains a top priority. CGD is delighted to host Capt. Muhammad Mahmood, Secretary of School Education, who will present his administration’s plans and objectives for the education sector; DFID Chief Economist, Rachel Glennerster, who will provide some insights on evidence-based education reforms from elsewhere in the world; and Riaz Kamlani, EVP Outcomes at The Citizens Foundation and Chairperson Punjab Examinations Commission, who will describe the expanding scope of collaboration between the government and the non-state sector.
