The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement is being negotiated by 9 countries – Australia, Brunei, Chile, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United States, and Vietnam – with Canada and Mexico slated to join the negotiations in October.

The TPP has been promoted as “a high quality, 21st century” agreement that will set standards for future trade agreements. Several provisions under negotiation are controversial even among the member states. Sponsored by the Law in the Pacific Rim Interest Group, this panel event will examine different aspects of the TPP negotiations, including regulatory coherence, labor issues, and strategic implications of the agreement.
