Frontier markets (economies not yet classified by investors as emerging markets but more developed than Least Developed Countries) have shown signs of resilience in a challenging geopolitical and trade environment. In 2025, stock indices in several frontier economies recorded strong gains, bucking wider uncertainty as inflation and borrowing costs eased and domestic policy frameworks improved.
Investing in these markets holds transformative potential but is not without challenges.
This event will present new World Bank Group analysis on the defining characteristics of frontier markets and their performance over time.
Panellists will share perspectives on the drivers and constraints shaping frontier market performance, and the role policy and private finance can play in unlocking their growth potential.
In-person attendance is reserved for a selected audience.
