Welcome to CGD's Global Health Policy Blog!

April 07, 2006

In honor of World Health Day 2006, I am pleased to inaugurate the Center for Global Development’s new Global Health Policy blog. Starting today, this blog replaces Vaccines for Development; we will continue to cover vaccine-related topics, but expand the scope to many other areas of the health sector. We will use this space to comment on many of the key policy and finances challenges in global health – from HIV/AIDS and immunization to human resources and community-based insurance. Owen Barder, who so ably started that first CGD foray into the blogosphere, will lend his voice to this effort; other CGD staff will also highlight new health sector research findings, implementation and policy issues in this blog. You are warmly invited to use the "comments" function to let us know your thoughts. We hope to hear from those who have much to say on particular topics, whether in health ministries, donor and technical agencies, the pharmaceutical industry or elsewhere. We look forward to the conversation!
