The IMF recently adjusted its global economic growth predictions to 4.1 percent for this year, down from 5 percent in 2007.Extreme Heat A Threat To World's Poor (National Public Radio: 8/18/08)A recent study in the journal Geophysical Research Letters found that extreme temperature caused by climate change will increase 2 or 3 times faster than average temperatures.
