Scoop! Members of the G-20 Development Working Group

November 03, 2010

Following my recent post on the G-20 development agenda and the upcoming Seoul Summit, several readers wrote asking if I had a list of the members of the Development Working Group. I starting asking around and was pleased to be able to obtain one. Of course, it would have been more useful if it had been released sooner, along with contact information for the members. (They might have received some useful suggestions along with a small uptick in junk email.) I like to think that the delay has more to do with the lack a secretariat to handle such things than a deliberate attempt to be opaque. In any event, we all agree that transparency is a good thing, so I’m happy to be able to pass along this list. It was provided without titles or organizational affiliations. My colleagues have put in a bit of time here trying to find online bios for the members. As you can see below, in most cases we were not successful. But I bet that all of the people on the list are known to somebody out there! So, let’s try a little experiment in crowd sourcing. If you have information you would like to share about the title and organizational affiliation(s) of the working group members (or maybe you are one of them!) please post it in the comments field below or write to me. Kel Currah at The Sherpa has provided a similar service with a periodically updated list of the G-20 Sherpas themselves. I suspect he may do the same with members of the development working group. If he does, I’ll pass along any e-mail tips I receive to him, to avoid the confusion of two slightly different lists.
