Investing in Women: Priya Krishnan, Jen Braswell, and Graham Wrigley on the CGD Podcast

November 26, 2019

Extensive international evidence shows that investing in women—as entrepreneurs, workers, and consumers—makes good business sense. Yet women continue to be under-represented and under-valued across the corporate value chain.

In response, an increasing number of investors, including development finance institutions, are reexamining their strategies to see what they can do to support women around the world.

On this episode of the CGD Podcast, I am joined by Priya Krishnan, Founder and CEO of KLAY, which provides childcare in India, and by Jen Braswell and Graham Wrigley of the CDC Group. We discuss what gender lens investing can look like in practice from the perspectives of both investors and entrepreneurs, including how to find good investments and how to get partners on board.

Megan O'Donnell is the assistant director of CGD's gender program and a senior policy analyst.
