Evaluating Health Programs

Support More Work Like This.

Your contribution makes it possible for the Center’s researchers to devise practical, evidence-based solutions for today’s most pressing development challenges.

In order to be most cost-effective and equitable, especially when budgets are constrained, health programs must be rigorously evaluated so that policymakers can make decisions with knowledge of what works and what doesn’t. Building on CGD’s broader body of work on the quality and uptake of evaluations, CGD’s health team offers suggestions to improve how evaluations are done, create incentives to undertake good evaluations in the first place, and encourage the use of evaluation results in the design of future health programs.
