Sheila Herrling

Former Director of Rethinking U.S. Foreign Assistance

Sheila Herrling held several positions at CGD, serving first as director of communications and policy and then as a senior policy analyst and director of the Rethinking U.S. Foreign Assistance Program. As program director, Herrling evaluated U.S. foreign assistance policies, was the primary contributor to the Rethinking U.S. Foreign Assistance blog, and was a principal of the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network (MFAN). She is a co-author with former CGD senior fellow Steve Radelet of U.S. Foreign Assistance for the Twenty-first Century (2008) and From Innovation to Impact: Next Steps for the Millennium Challenge Corporation (2009). She left CGD in January 2010 to serve as the vice president for policy and international relations at the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
