Lorna Guinness

Non-Resident Fellow


Lorna Guinness is a non-resident fellow at the Center for Global Development's Europe office. As a senior health economist, she has worked in and with academic institutions (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Imperial College, and Australian National University) and multiple international donor agencies. Her work has focused on research and capacity building for health economics and health system strengthening in low- and middle-income countries, in particular India. Her current research explores the role of costing in healthcare decision-making in India and she is an Honorary Lecturer at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine where she maintains an active teaching role. She is co-editor of the Open University Press “Introduction to Health Economics” textbook. She holds a PhD in Health Economics from the University of London, which she completed as a Wellcome Trust Research Fellow.
