ABOUT THE EVENT

The Center for Global Development (CGD) is hosting this panel discussion on what the Role of Aid in Middle-Income Countries is. It will consider the role China is playing as a new donor in MICs. What is China’s strategy, and does it respond to its experience as an aid recipient? Ranil Dissanayake will present the findings of a research project conducted by CGD in 2020, which looked at the use of aid in MICs and how to maximize its potential for greater development impact. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion between academia representatives and development policy experts.
