Ruth Levine
Director, Global Development and Population Program, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation

Moderated by
David Callahan
Founder and Editor, Inside Philanthropy

CGD founding Board Chair Edward Scott, Jr. was recently described by David Callahan, the founding editor of Inside Philanthropy, as “the most effective global giver to yet emerge from Silicon Valley.” Callahan lauded Scott for his insistence on the importance of policy change and the way he acted upon that in founding CGD. CGD is pleased to host Scott for a talk that comes at a time when governments and charities around the world are giving increasingly careful consideration to how to achieve the largest public benefit from their expenditures. We anticipate that his talk will be frank, memorable and challenging to the status quo. After the talk, Callahan will interview Scott on stage and Scott will take questions from the audience.
