ABOUT THE EVENT
What are the impacts of regularization on migrant’s lives? In a new paper, Sandra Rozo and co-authors examine the effects of the Permiso Especial de Permanencia (PEP) visa, an opportunity for regularization for half a million Venezuelan refugees in Colombia. The study finds that migrants with a PEP visa experience improved economic self-sufficiency, less food insecurity, more integration in host communities, better labor conditions, and more resilience to the COVID-19 crisis as compared to other migrants.
Rozo will join CGD for an online presentation of the paper in which she will discuss the methodology, results, and policy implications for developing countries’ migration programs. If you are unable to attend the event live, the discussion will be recorded for later viewing.
