Is the International Aid Architecture for Education Failing the World?

A global institutional system for education should provide leadership, finance, accountability, and knowledge dissemination among other functions but “on most of these counts, the current international architecture for education is broken.”

CGD is delighted to host Nicholas Burnett, Senior Fellow at R4D and chair of the Board of UNESCO-IIEP, who will present a case for why the international architecture for education is broken and what we need to do to fix it; Sally Gear, Head of Profession, Education at DFID, who will provide reflections from a donor perspective; and Joseph Nhan-O'Reilly, Head of Education Policy & Advocacy at Save the Children, who will reflect on the current challenges in global education financing.
