Steve Radelet is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Development, where he works on issues related to foreign aid, developing country debt, economic growth, and trade policy in developing countries, especially sub-Saharan Africa and East Asia. He was Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Treasury for Africa, the Middle East, and Asia from 2000-2002, and is co-author of Economics of Development, and author of Challenging Foreign Aid: A Policymaker’s Guide to the Millennium Challenge Account.
Radelet currently serves as an economic advisor to the President and the Minister of Finance of Liberia, and is co-authoring a book with President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on emerging success stories in sub-Saharan Africa, and how to sustain and expand upon these initial successes.
