Effects of Migration on Developing Countries: Explaining Labor Market Inactivity in Migrant-Sending Families

On Friday, September 12, 2008, Christoph Trebesch of the Free University of Berlin presented his findings from a paper on "Explaining Labour Market Inactivity in Migrant-Sending Families," which included a new perspective on the impact of migration and remittances on time allocation in migrant-sending families. David Grigorian of the International Monetary Fund served as a discussant and Michael Clemens, Center for Global Development, moderated the event.
