Climate Change Post-Bali: Assessing the Prospects for Success

In the wake of December’s UN Climate Change Conference in Indonesia, this seminar focused on the next stages of international climate negotiations, current efforts in both the developed and developing world to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and the prospects and potential for a successful response to global warming. Specific topics included the state of global, U.S., and Chinese climate policy, trends in renewable energy, and the role of energy efficiency. 

Speakers included Jacob Scherr, Senior Attorney and Director, International Program, Natural Resources Defense Council; Janet Sawin, Director, Energy and Climate Change Program, Worldwatch Institute; Yingling Liu, Manager, China Program, Worldwatch Institute. David Wheeler, Senior Fellow, Confronting Climate Change Initiative, Center for Global Development, served as moderator.
