About the Event

How does migration affect reproductive preferences and behaviors? In a new paper, Caroline Theoharides and Susan Godlonton study the impact of exposure to reproductive health policies during temporary migration episodes on origin-country fertility behavior. The study examines temporary migration from the Philippines and finds that the proportion of women in a municipality giving birth in a particular year decreases after exposure to more liberalized reproductive health policies.

Theoharides will join CGD for an online presentation of the paper in which she will discuss the methodology, results, and policy implications for reproductive health. If you are unable to attend the event live, the discussion will be recorded for later viewing.
