"Neither scenario would necessarily fit with the MCC’s model. As Sarah Jane Staats, director of policy outreach at the Centre for Global Development says, “In my own mind the MCC still maintains that sort of special role as a select amount of predictable funding for objectively selected, well governed poor countries, and it would probably do it a disservice to fully integrate it and get rid of some of those independent selection criteria.”"
