Thomas R. Gibian

Thomas R. Gibian is a Managing Director of EMP Global, CEO of EMP Africa and Chairman of EMP MENA. Prior to joining EMP, Mr. Gibian was Executive Director and Co-Head of Structured Finance for the Asia-Pacific Region of Goldman Sachs (Asia) Limited from 1992-1995. Mr. Gibian joined Goldman Sachs in 1987 as vice president. Prior to 1987 he was with Solomon Brothers (1983-1987). Throughout his career, he has focused on private investment in regulated businesses including telecommunications, utilities and transportation.

Mr. Gibian has been a director on the boards of Ashanti Goldfields (NYSE:ASL), Interwave (NASDAQ: iwav), Celtel, and Orascom Telecom Algeria, Mr. Gibian serves on the board of the Center for Global Development and Sidwell Friends School.
