Thomas R. Gibian

Thomas R. Gibian is chief executive officer of Emerging Capital Partners (ECP) as well as a managing director and founding partner. Before ECP's spinout from EMP Global (EMP), Mr. Gibian served as chief operating officer for the AIG African Infrastructure Fund (Africa Fund I), managing the daily operations of the fund and overseeing the structuring and valuation of investments. Prior to joining EMP, Mr. Gibian was Executive Director and Co-Head of Structured Finance for the Asia-Pacific Region of Goldman Sachs (Asia) Limited from 1992-1995. Mr. Gibian joined Goldman Sachs in 1987 as vice president. Prior to 1987 he was with Solomon Brothers (1983-1987). Throughout his career, he has focused on private investment in regulated businesses including telecommunications, utilities and transportation.

Mr. Gibian has been a director on the boards of Ashanti Goldfields (NYSE:ASL), Interwave (NASDAQ: iwav), Celtel, and Orascom Telecom Algeria. Mr. Gibian serves on the board of the Sidwell Friends School.
